Signs

  • Currently no ongoing projects

Symptoms

  • Minimal important change (MIC) for POEM; does the method of calculation affect the value and does the MIC vary by age, sex, ethonicity or baseline POEM score?
  • Structural validity of the POEM; would the addition of items relating to pain/soreness, hot/inflamed skin and involvement of visible sites improve the performance of the scale? Should intensity of eczema symptoms be evaluated in addition to frequency of symptoms?

  • What is the cross cultural validity of POEM?

Long term control of disease

  • Online survey of the HOME membership to gather views about what long-term control means and the advantages and disadvantages of different ways to measure long-term control.
  • Online focus groups to understand what long-term control of eczema means to patients and carers from around the world.
  • Validity, reliability and responsiveness to change of the Totally Controlled Week / Well Controlled Week and correlation with other measures such as POEM.
  • Study to investigate how the frequency of measurement of POEM may influence the interpretation of clinical trial results.

Quality of Life
